Really enjoyed this L.A.Rev. of Books piece on Ray Bradbury at 100, the UC Riverside anecdote in particular.
(And the idea that "little boys read novels back then.” I read novels at 11. I also wasted hundreds of hours playing Kangaroo on a 5200. 😆)
📚 round-up 2020 (tl;dr: not much)
I feel like I didn't read anything this year; couldn't concentrate on anything longer than a cereal box. What I did read, I barely remember. The latest Stephenson and Gibson, Bayern Agenda, Jemisin and Chambers’s short stories? Yeah, sorta recall all of those.
The Murderbot novel, yes, good stuff.
The three pop-sci books I got for free from NetGalley, they were all okay.
The Haunting of Tram Car 015 by P. Djèlí Clark and Susanna Clarke’s Piranesi were my favorites.
